Anyone surprised the J. Geils Band has been nominated five times (so far without getting in)? Seems they lack a bit of depth and weight for the Hall? What do you think?

Would you agree the word "gravitas" isn't commonly known enough, given how useful it is and perfect in some cases? If so, why is this? I want to use it on a sub post where it's the perfect word but afraid it will push away possible commenters on the post who don't know what it means

How might Rutherford Chang have made his project where he simultaneously started 100 copies of Side One of the Beatles' White Album and recorded what happened as they played?

Artist Rutherford Chang made a project, possibly in 2013, where he simultaneously started 100 copies of Side One of the Beatles' White Album and recorded what happened as the 100 copies played (see body text for link). How might this have been recorded/created?

TIL "The Twist" by Chubby Checker, who entered the Hall this year, is the only song in the rock era to become Number One in two different years (1960 and 1962). And in 2014 Billboard Magazine declared the song "the biggest hit" of the 1960s.

Does it surprise anyone the Beatles became associated with Disney? Back in the day the boys used illegal narcotics and did promiscuous sex. Not "Disney values" I'd think? Yet somehow over the years that became accepted enough in their history that Disney would ally with them?

Have read the Beatles spent a great deal of time together, even in their off-time (Jagger called them 'the four-headed monster' because always saw them together, like at parties). Other groups don't or didn't do this as much, right? Do you think if they did their music would improve? Why or why not?

Reading, I got a sense that maybe when a prisoner converts to Christianity or becomes a strong(er) Christian, a number of fellow prisoners are critical. But is this true, and if so, why?

Has anyone read the book "The Velvet Underground", by Michael Leigh, about paraphilia in the U.S.? How did Leigh arrive at that title? What in the book goes with that title?

Anyone surprised Captain Beefheart hasn't been inducted? Trout Mask Replica is largely considered an innovative, outsider classic, and the other albums are highly regarded. Why or why not do you think he will be?
