Looking for a "cool" dad car
About me:
I am looking to replace my 2012 Subaru Impreza hatchback. I am not a car guy and have only owned 2 very practical cars in my life. In my 40s now with 2 kids and I'm not getting any younger so I would like to drive something a little more sporty and/or luxurious for once. I drive at most 5,000 miles/year - it does not need to be a workhorse - but I will keep it for 10 years and put 50,000 miles on it.
Requirements:
- under $50k USD lightly used
- 4 door
- AWD
- fastback/hatchback trunk access - think Costco trips, music gear
Priority items:
- solid user interface/tactile controls/technology
- good sound system
- excitement factor
- my own time - I do not want to spend hours at the dealership on service/maintenance
Aside from those things that are specific to me, I appreciate safety features, reliability, and gas mileage.
My top choice currently is the Audi A5 Sportback. My largest concern with the A5 is reliability and maintenance cost.
What are some other options?
