Too many people s*cking off Volk in here! (my case for Islam)

No doubt Volk is great and did really well and kudos to him for challenging the dominant champ of a higher weight class and making it so close (much much better than Israel vs Blachowicz). Also he looked like he had enough gas to go on for a few more rounds after that grueling fight (after the Holloway and Ortega fights too).

However I think this match went closer than it would/should have because of Islam's wrong strategy i.e. attempting to K.O. Volk instead of just keep shooting and dragging him down and eventually coiling around him to force a submission like uncle Khabib would have. My case is that Islam made it seem like the gap between him and Volk was wafer thin by trying to beat Volk at his game instead of sticking with his greatest weapon against Volk. If there is a rematch I hope Khabib speaks sense in to him and gets him to take the easiest path to victory instead of ego-tripping and trying to beat his opponent at their strength.
