Carts through TSA?

I'm going on a trip, I'm on the east coast and the place I'm going to it's not legal for rec, I'm also going with family and they don't know I smoke so if I get caught I'm screwed, any tips? and can tsa see cartridges or vapes? any tips would be great! from the research I've don't everyone says just to do carry on and that works but I'd like to be 100% sure!
