What are you grateful for as a therapist?
Sorry for the lengthy post lol. I graduated in my with my MSW, first gen super exciting. But my dad passed away a few days later from cancer. It really took a toll on my mental health. l took some time off to grieve and feel of all the feels. It was important to me to be in a healthier headspace before working with clients again. Grateful for my own therapist for helping me through the process too. I struggled finding a job willing to hire interns and applied to at least 15+ agencies. I was offered a part time position at an amazing private practice and genuinely enjoying it so far! However, imposter syndrome hit me very hard. I was easing my anxiety by reminding myself that the most important part of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. I really can't emphasize how grateful I am to be in this field. I absolutely love what I do. Providing others with the space to feel heard, seen, and respected is such a privilege. Nice to know that 6 years of college led me to a career I truly have a passion for.
What are you grateful for being a mental health professional?
Have a good weekend friends 🫶🏻
