Why would God allow evil and injustice?

He allowed us free-will. He wanted us to look at the world and assume there might not be any justice. If there’s no justice, that allows us to make any moral decisions and reveal who we truly are. If God told us he existed, we’d either live in fear to truly act on our free-will or do good things just because that’s what we are told. The allowance of evil allows us true growth.

Evil in itself is a teacher and the contrast shows us how great we are when we do morally good things. God didn’t fully leave us alone. He set little clues in the universe to guide us, but without impeding our free-will. This is why it’s nearly impossible to prove his existence except on a personal level. You see that’s the point. He wants to see who YOU are and what YOU would do. If we proved he existed that would ruin the lessons and opportunities for growth for many others.
