Finally watched the movies for the first time and JESUS 🥴😂
The first movie was tolerable and kind of fun but the second one was just... were the original writers on strike or something? Was everyone out to get the actress who played Samantha or something cause the shit they had that woman saying and doing was just so embarrassing.
Miranda was also just so out of character. I know she's taken Steve back before but I truly believe that she was done with him for good this time around. I just can't believe her friends gaslit her into thinking that not forgiving Steve and taking that man child back was the worst thing she could do. She would've just fine on her own I think.
Charlotte was just Charlotte. Overly optimistic, privileged and too grown to still be that naive. Too grown to still live in lala land where everything is sunshine and rainbows but I digress. Still love that WASPy lady
There's nothing I can say about Big and Carrie that hasn't been said before but I think their problems can be boiled down to how little they communicated about anything. It was more prevalent in the show but their inability to have a serious conversation about anything is sooo jarring. They're just too grown to still be doing this. Carrie always brings up a serious concern about their relationship, living situation and whatnot and Big always cuts in with a joke and the entire thing is forgotten about. Their conversations are always left so open ended and Carrie often leaves with more questions than answers. Big and Carrie always do that thing where they never answer each others questions. Carrie could seriously ask "Do you want to get married?" and Big always answers like "The more important question is, how bad do YOU want to get married?" and then Carrie always looks taken back by his non-answers but never presses him about ANYTHING. She just always takes his word as law even if she disagreed with. He ALWAYS gets his way and she's ALWAYS sacrificing something about herself for him. It's sooooo annoying.
Overall, not watching the new show. I can't imagine itll be any good if the writers who wrote the movies are writing the show too...
