Puppy Pee Time
Hey Guys, First post here so sorry if I do not do correctly or break a guideline accidentally.
We have our beautiful whippet puppy, Maisie, for just over 2 weeks now. 3 months old. She is getting on great with house training and will walk to the front door and sit there to let us know she needs to go. She will also whimper if she cannot get access to the front door letting us know.
Where my concern lies is during the night. She is crated in the room with us and has taken pretty well to the crate. We are good for keeping her in a routine, i.e what time she goes to bed at etc. I get up at 3.30am everynight and bring her pee. She goes straight away and goes right back to sleep. It's hard to say does she go because she needs to, or is she going because I am bringing her to her toilet spot and she hates the cold so could just be going to get back inside lol.
One night my partner outslept her alarm, so she wasn't let out until 7am when we get up with her. She didn't fuss or cry, just slept all night. Last night, I accidentally did the same and again no budge from her until 7am. She has not gone in the crate.
Am I wrong to assume she can hold it this long now, I understand she is only 3 months but she is sleeping through the night on 2 occasions without getting up for toilet.
Should I continue to get up for her at 3.30 am or continue to see if she will be fine.
Thanks sorry for such a long post, new puppy owner anixety lol.
TL;DR: My puppy is still young be seems to be able to hold the toilet for longer than expected, is it bad to keep leaving her? Or should I bring her anyways.
