Screw, YouTube and Google. FreeTube all the way now (stupid post about the obvious incoming 😅)

Yes, I know it’s stupid, but out of convenience I just watched YouTube in my browser for the recommendations and using Ublock got rid of all ads but today they had me jumping through hoops to watch videos. At this point there is no excuse using YouTube on the browser.

Apparently, Google is AB testing some new ad block thing that makes it impossible to watch videos. No matter which quality I put it would always buffer, switched to a new browser where I wasn’t logged in and it was working, but since I didn’t know I was logged in I thought it was the browser. When I noticed, I logged in and it started doing it again 🙄

No matter how hard Google tries, I’m not paying for YouTube premium and their efforts made me finally say screw convenience I’ll just watch on FreeTube, which I have seen is a privacy front end for YouTube.
