12900k - Issues with XMP Booting

Hi all,

Looking to get some support here on an issue I'm facing with my RAM, at least I think it's my Ram. I'm sometimes getting a general overclock error when booting (not memory overclock error) and I have to go into the setup and then exit. The weird thing is, sometimes it works fine and boots as expected. I have ran OCCT memory test at the XMP profile and it worked without issue and I have had no crashing or BSODs so far.

I first used to standard XMP profile for this ram, 6000 @ CL30, then I upped the CL to CL32, this made it much more stable until it happened again so now I'm trying XMP but lowering the clock to 5800 @ CL30.

This is a new Mobo and Ram while everything else remains the same and the CPU I got from a mate after his upgrade. I'm wondering, is this faulty ram? faulty Mobo? Or just a bad memory controller on the CPU. My mate used DDR4 on this rig with it so I can't compare to his system.

Online sources suggested upping the voltage but the Ram in XMP is already at it's rated 1.4v. I have only changed 2 things within the BIOS, a PL of 175w and an offset voltage of 0.050v (this was applied after already have the ram issue).

Everything is upto date, flashed the bios etc.

Any ideas or support be greatly appreciated!
