Amid yet another report of how the situation played out ahead of Butler’s current suspension, agent Bernie Lee took to social media Saturday to clear up what had become an exaggerated misconception.

In the wake of a podcast when former NBA center Channing Frye said Butler made the Heat wait two hours on the tarmac on Jan. 22 for the team’s flight to Milwaukee, Lee posted a flight alert of the Heat team plane actually departing 15 ahead of schedule that day.

Of that incident in question, Butler had requested permission in advance to travel on his own, hosting a racquet-sport event in Miami that day.

That is when the Heat issued a suspension with a statement  that read, “We have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games for continued pattern of disregard of team rules, insubordinate conduct and conduct detrimental to the team, including missing today’s team flight to Milwaukee.”
