Is 18k plated gold durable

I want to get a gold bangle bracelet its made of yellow aloy 18k gold plated layer of 3 microns. Its a design that is unique I tried finding it else where but its so beautiful and unique. My only concern is that the brand has mixed has reviews. I am worried it will tarnish or turn black does anyone have any advice on if I should get it?
