FortiGate cloud vs FortiManager?
We currently have a FortiManager On-Prem, but I don't quite see the use of it so far. We also have FortiAnalyzer On-Prem which is very nice.
I've been looking into maybe retiring the FortiManager, in favor of giving FortiGate Cloud a go, the FortiGates that is managed are all very different, so I find the Policy pushing of the FortiManager confusing, and much rather just log onto the FortiGate directly to do the needed changes, I feel I have better control this way, but of course more time consuming if you have mutliple changes needed to be done.
Could probably invest more time to understand everything about the FortiManager, but so far the only thing I find worth about it is the config backup feature.
What I do want though is an overview of all the FortiGates, and alarms about events and link down with config backups, looking at the feature set of the FortiGate Cloud it looks to give all this, so I could in a way get rid of the FortiManager and the FortiAnalyzer for this feature set? I might be missing the more advanced log features of the FortiAnalyzer though.
Anyway, do anyone here got any experience with using FortiGate Cloud managing different FortiGates? And what the price point is, my understanding here is that one would need an extra license for every FortiGate?
