Nervousness about restoring

I keep going back and forth on restoring, and wearing my retainer, it’s silly but I keep thinking I might hit something while I’m working or someone bumps into me and they can feel the plastic or hear it, or needing to quickly change, or what to do if spontaneous sex happens, I really want to get into it but then I get shy/nervous and don’t wear it, how do I move past this? I also was woundering about keeping the retainer on, if I go through it should I take it off in the shower? Or just leave it on?
