My insurance company won’t approve a medication increase

I have an extensive history of SI and mental health hospitalizations. I’ve been on like 40 different psych medications, tried so many different therapy options and alternative treatments. My depression has gotten worse with the winter and my doctor wanted to increase one of my antidepressants.

It’s been denied. We appealed it 3 times and it was denied every time.

Apparently it’s not medically necessary.

I honestly hate the health insurance industry. I feel so hopeless about this situation. I’ve tried so many meds and 9 times out of 10 I get really bad side effects. I can’t afford to take time off right now if a new med gives me really bad side effects. I have a med that works. I hate that they can just deny like that.
