Dating apps are actually good for men
I feel like a lot of guys overlook one hugely positive aspect of dating apps (for men) and it’s that you’re not being judged by the way you’re being perceived by others within the social bubble you meet girls through.
I like it when girls decide how they feel about me based on the interactions we had between the two of us and their opinion can’t be influenced by whether or not other girls like me, whether or not I’m popular, or by how much pull or social capital I have in our school/party circle/office/etc. They simply don’t know that.
In real life people, especially girls, seem to care so much about what everyone else thinks, they just forget to even form their own opinion. Back in high school I’ve definitely had very good chemistry with girls who wouldn’t want to associate with me because I wasn’t well liked by others.
It’s just sooo much easier to just be likeable on a date, compared to having to be likeable 24/7 in order to build connections and establish yourself as popular and well respected within all your social circles. Not even to mention that one little mess up can ruin your reputation and you’re very unlikely to bounce back, meanwhile every new date from online is a clean sheet of paper.
