What would you consider an absolute non-starter in a century home?
Hello! My husband and I are thinking about buying our first home we’re looking at a 113 year old colonial that is 100% a fixer upper like there’s no denying that.
The pros are it’s right in our budget, right in the area we want to live in, great schools and has the potential to be 6 bedrooms (3rd floor isn’t heated rn lol) so we could raise a family there and never have to move also the roof was replaced in 2018 and it has a newer tankless water heater
Cons there’s tons of cosmetics things that need work and who knows that else and my husband and I have pretty much no skills but we’re willing to learn and have dads who are handy and would at the very least be able to guide us in the right direction for a lot of things
We’re going to get an inspection done of course and I’m sure it’s going to be pages and pages long but I guess what is everyone’s opinion I’m what the TRUE red flags are?
