College at 30, what options are good?
I’ll try and knee this brief. I wanted to get into IT or CS and now it seems that the industry is in turmoil. People with excessive amounts of experience are taking what they can get. I then considered accounting and that seems to be in a similar situation. Outsourcing and high experience jobs are paying “poorly” for the experience required due to excessive supply to demand.
I want to get a degree, I want a decent paying job that I can turn to a career. I feel like trying to figure what I should go to school for. Nothing seems safe and while I’m not old I don’t want to waste 4-5 years on a degree that’ll place me in a situation that I’m currently in, struggling to pay bills to get by.
Any advice?
I know trades are an option and I’ve done plenty of manual labor type jobs and working with my body has already taken its fare share from me.
Appreciate the input, whether it’s positive or negative. Cheers.
