Job hunting with a violent record, disabilities?
I’m looking for a job and I’m open to pretty much anything that will hire me and I’m able to do.
I have a BA and job experience in investigations and advocacy with expertise in disability and policy.
I have violent misdemeanors from when I was struggling with addiction and mental illness. This is my biggest barrier.
I have physical disabilities and cannot work on my feet running around for 8 hours. Open to suggestions on entry level jobs like that with accommodations? (Operating a cash register with a stool or something)
I get disability but it’s not enough to cover my living expenses. I worked with VR but they told me they couldn’t help until all my criminal matters were completely taken care of and closed my case. Not looking for full time.
Any ideas? It seems like everywhere is either on your feet all day, background checks, or both. I don’t expect to find anything relevant to my experience. Just need to pay the bills.
