the tarte trip confuses me
i know this might be an unpopular opinion but i just feel so confused w the reaction to the tarte trip. like what do yall want her to do?? sit in someone elses house and just worry all day about something she has no control over? saw someone being like "she can go give water to those in need" in response to her story abt having nothing she can do in LA and im just so confused bc i know for a fact nobody else other than influencers is being held to that standard.
it just feels like people are jealous that she and other rich influencers are able to escape the fires and they're trying to morally justify it but i have yet to see like a genuinely good argument about why they shouldnt go other than "its just so fucked up." like how is it fucked up? whats the alternative? she sits inside james charles house for the next two weeks? how does that help anyone more than her going on the trip does? coming from a south ca native it just feels like a lot of ppl are commenting on the situation having never lived it and think that people like tana can do a lot more abt it than she actually can.
