is my back pain caused by a vitamin d3 deficiency?
has anyone had severe back pain that got better after taking vitamins such as d3?
i (21f) have had pain in mid/upper back + sides for about 8 years now, all x-rays and tests don't show anything about the pain, i even had an mri and nothing showed, no painkiller or physical therapy or anything helps with the pain. i have a vitamin d deficiency (mine is 26.5, normal should range from 75-175), some doctors have told me that the vitamin deficiency doesn't cause this type of pain while others seem to insist it's the reason. in my experience it doesn't seem logical for me that the pain would be caused by it especially with the way it has developed in the past few years.
general info about the pain⬇️
started: around 2016, would come as a pinch (lower front left side) for a few seconds, slowly developed to a few minutes then the pain spread to the left side-back and would last a few hours
development: over the years it spread to the right side as well and got stronger and would last longer, sometimes days of discomfort and pain, both sides, front, mid back, sometimes shoulders
past 2-3 years: it keeps getting worse with time and gets to a point where i can't move or breathe properly, i wake up in the middle of the night crying in pain, it started coming very suddenly and extremely painful (it used to be gradual)
treatment: i have tried painkillers, over the counter and prescribed, nothing really works, relaxon (muscle relaxers) did make it less painful than usual if i take it twice daily but i don't know if i'm supposed to keep doing that, painkiller injections such as voltaren sometimes help but mostly don't make a difference. tried physical therapy, went to a chiropractor, nothing has helped or lasted for pain relief or fixing the problem
tests: i had blood tests multiple times and the things that aren't normal levels still don't cause this type of pain, i had x-rays multiple times and nothing shows + sonogram + mri
hospital visits: i've been to orthopedic doctors, neurology, internal medicine ,physical therapy, pain management clinic, spine surgery, basically any clinic that would take me or any clinic i would get referred to
diagnosis: the only diagnosis i've ever gotten was thoracic facet joint syndrome, looking into the treatments such as painkiller injections into the joint are not permanent and could cause more problems in the long run + looking into the symptoms it doesn't really align with my symptoms
any comment of any information if you relate or if you have recommendations is appreciated! i had the mri yesterday and i'm just feeling really down about nothing ever showing up cause it just feels like all doors of possible diagnosis and treatment are repeatedly closing in my face and i'll have to live like this forever with my pain only getting worse with time
