My third post about Louie Barry
Anyone else think we should be holding onto Barry until the end of the season?
Yes, I know he’s probably not ready and I know the Championship experience would do him the world of good but…
We are so flat in our attack at the moment. We showed flashes of it yesterday but largely it’s been dire the last few weeks. I understand the schedule is running down the players and they’re shattered but having this thin of a squad, especially in defence and attack is not doing anyone any good.
If we get into a position where we’re comfortable, and I know that’s a big if at the moment then twenty minutes to keep Ramsey or Rogers or whomever would do them the world of good.
Finally, we don’t know his ceiling. I’ve watched a lot of Stockport this year (friend is a fan) and he just has something. That spark, that fearlessness that comes with youth that could really help us in the last few months.
I know Emery knows better but it just seems to me we’re looking at PSR and taking our eye of what we actually need right now.
The injuries are coming thick and fast and the more football these boys play, the more this is going to happen. Were thread bare right now. The sale of Philogene for a more experienced player, Malen, was a great bit of business but we’re not selling Barry. We’re loaning him so we can probably sell in the summer for a slightly higher fee.
Personally I’d give him a shot but obviously Emery knows better. Just curious to hear if anyone else shares my thoughts.
