If I rewrote Arkham Knight
REWRITING BATMAN ARKHAM KNIGHT (CORE STORY AND SIDEQUESTS)
In this rewrite, I will keep the majority of the story of the same. However, the changes will be important. At some point early in the story, Oracle says they need all hands on deck (referring to Tim being able to help Bruce) as "Steph, Cass and Kate are away from the city" leading to using those 3 characters in DLC. Tim does not have a romantic relationship with Barbara, more a younger sibling vibe with her.
The Jason Todd visions are explained as videos Joker sent to Batman of Jason's death, and Harley has given Bruce microdoses of fear gas as he travels through the film sets which is why he sees them. there is tiny samples in the air, only enough to affect Bruce as he is already struggling with it.
The tank missions are for the main story and the campaign for disarmanent story and are not used as a boss fight (besides the CloudBurst) and are not riddler challenges.
The Arkham Knight bossfight will be as was, but before that we have a deathstroke style boss fight against him. He then reveals his secret and hides but the room is far bigger than it was and we need to use every gadget besides the voice synthesiser to eventually get close to him and beat him
After this, we then cut characters to Red Hood as he replays audios from Barbara, and receives transmissions from Alfred. He refuses to listen, mentally damaged, and leaves.
We then return to playing as Batman and the story from there plays out similarly, but he has finally synthesised a cure to the fear toxin. before it works we get the Joker combat fight in Crime Alley and after a lengthy period of endless waves of the Joker the cure finally works and Bruce no longer has the effects of the Fear Toxin on his mind. He then gets into the van and is taken to the Asylum.
At this point we switch once again to Red Hood, who goes to the Studio set to try and recruit Tim, who he learns has been taken by Scarecrows forces. Jason kills all of them and then learns that Bruce has been taken to the Asylum and Jason heads there. we get a predator sequence with him as he clears out the militia and then gets into the room just as Scarecrow is about to out Batman's identity and Jason fixes his rifle upon Scarecrow.
We switch back into Bruce's perspective as Scarecrow puts the fear toxin into him once more and for a few minutes we have a replay of the traumatic moments of the arkham games - the death of his parents, the death of Jason, the killing joke, Talia's death and the death of the Joker before Bruce says he isn't afraid. Scarecrow says "what are you" to him and we get the iconic "I am Vengeance, I am the Night, I am Batman" with Bruce's restraints breaking free when he says "Batman" and he injects the fear toxin into Crane. Crane, terrified, pulls out a knife and goes to stab the demon he sees but Jason shoots it out of his hand and Bruce knocks him out.
The games main campaign ends with Bruce, Alfred, Barbara, Dick, Jason, Tim, Steph, Cass and Kate sharing a moment together at the Batcave.
now for the side missions - Penguin, Pyg, Firefly, Azreal and Riddler remain the same. The Station 17 Fire crew mission is almost the same but it is a red herring. Batman thinks he deduces that the Captain is working with Firefly, but then Firebug attacks and heads towards the Fire Centre (GCPD headquarters but for the Fire Brigade). Firebug's boss fight plays similarly to Bane in Origins, where you have to attack him from behind. Firebug can only be attacked from Vantage points, Vents, Grates, Ceiling Crates and Breakable Walls. however, after you use one of these he destroys the rest, so the last 1 you use beats him.
Two-Faces side missions are fairly similar but a Two-Face fight occurs where he cannot be seen using detective vision and his gun does twice the damage of regular weapons and he also doesn't fall for any tricks, staying away from possible traps, he needs to be combat takedown'ed three times which draws others to your location so be careful.
The Militia missions play the same but completing each one has a different fight with Deathstroke. The campaign for disarmanent mission leads to a bomb being placed in a warehouse with a predator sequence. Deathstroke is not present but he is on comms at all times warning the soldiers every time you use a specific takedown technique or gadget. you cannot use Voice Synthesizer or Remote Hacking Device in this mission due to Deathstroke being on comms and there being no tech in the room. The Own the Roads side mission leads to a combat fight against Deathstroke on a nearby rooftop. He smoke bombs away after a while. The Occupy Gotham mission leads to a predator fight where you have to take out members of the militia before Deathstroke kills a hostage, you have 4 minutes. you then fight Deathstroke who let's the hostage live because there is no honour in killing them, and the two of you have another fight. the occupy Gotham mission will be the last militia mission as it generates more towers after you finish the other two missions.
The Deacon Blackfire mission has Batman investigate missing homeless people who had been spreading religious gospel. you eventually learn that Deacon Blackfire is the name of the pastor they all preach with and Jack Ryder has information on him. Jack isn't at GCPD but his notes are all over the room and you need to study his notes before learning where the Deacon is. the fight takes the same course but Deacon then fights you 1 v 1 and he needs to be taken out using a mix of Freeze Grenades, Explosive Gel and Remote Electrical Charge as well as a Batclaw disarm into a takedown into a Brute style Beatdown.
Hush is turned into a DLC mission which will be my next rewrite
