Getting okay with food waste

I have always had an issue wasting food. My emotions run from anxiety to anger. It likely stems from some lean years as a kid when we experienced food insecurity.

As such, I’m one who will always finish my plate and the kid’s leftovers, even when I’m already stuffed.

I avoid buffets and get really annoyed when groups I’m out with order too much family-style food. I also try to be cognizant about how much I put on my plate.

Since ZEP, this has become less of an issue. I’m generally taking half as much food as I used too and even then I’m finding myself not finishing and not forcing myself to do so. I’ll just trash those extra bites. All those extra calories add up so this is a major accomplishment for me.
