YieldMax. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
YieldMax single ticker ETFs, what the hell are these good and bad at??
I've been seeing lots of discussion around swing trading, TA, options, etc. on YM funds.
GOOD: 1. Earning passive income on funds with options selling strategies with lower capital expenditure. 2. Total return on highly volatile stocks, especially with Buy and Hold techniques. 3. Generation of income on volatile slightly bullish stocks. MSFT/MSFO Ex: https://totalrealreturns.com/s/MSFT,MSFO 4. Total return on highly volatile slightly bearish stocks. (But you might be better off dumping the underlying or YM ETF) MRNA/MRNY Ex: https://totalrealreturns.com/s/MRNA,MRNY?start=2024-06-01
BAD: 1. Total return on bullish stocks that make a big price jump. Ex:AAPL/APLY https://totalrealreturns.com/s/AAPL,APLY
UGLY: 1. Selling early with poor timing. Ex: TSLA/TSLY https://totalrealreturns.com/s/TSLA,TSLY
I plan on making a longer post in the next few days, but I wanted to get the party started.
Comments welcome. And yes, I did use specific date ranges to provide scenario examples.
