So… why Unreal Engine 5?

Sorry if this was asked before, but couldnt find it. I don’t have any problem with the game, i dont find it “woke” cause thats just BS, and the game isnt even out yet.

But why did they chose unreal engine 5? Red endinge was awsome. Withchern3 still holds up, and the next gen update made the game look better then most AAA titles in 2024. Cyberpunk is still phenomenal. That game looks like a dream. And the performance is really really good and smooth.

So why do yall think they decided to switch? Stalker 2’s case was different, cause they needed a new engine, and making a new engine costs a sh*t ton of money. So that was reasonable. But in CDPR’s case… i just dont know. They already had a great engine. And i dont have good experience with UE5. Dont get me wrong. Its a great engine, everyone can use it, and it is innovative in a lot of areas. But most of the time, all UE5 look in a certain, similiar way and MOST of the time its unoptimized and buggy as hell. I dont think they should have switched to UE5.

But let’s hope that they know how to use that engine, and they make the best game ever made with UE5. And i also hope that the performance wouldnt be that demanding as other UE5 titles.

TL;DR: i dont have problem with it, but i think it was unnecessary to switch, cause they already have a really good looking, and overall really amazing engine.
