ULPT Request: Destroying guitar at request of insurance
I bought a classical guitar a few months ago while I was traveling in Europe, and had it shipped home to the states. When it arrived, it was unfortunately cracked where the neck meets the body. I worked with the seller and they said the insurance would cover a new guitar, but they need evidence of the destruction of the old one.
The guitar still plays okay, and I’d love to be able to give it to my brother or one of my friends as a gift. But I’m wondering what’s a good way to provide “evidence” to the insurance company of the guitar’s destruction, while keeping the guitar itself intact? Any suggestions?
Edit: The crack is where the neck meets the body, not the bridge. Sorry, was a bit baked when I typed this out initially 😅
Thank you for all the suggestions! I’m gonna be on the lookout for a destruction/recycling company nearby that could give me a receipt for the destruction of the instrument.
