The female gaze in the current era

I recently came across discussion on the topic of male and the female gaze. When ppl were mentioning how there is less glamour in the current generation of movies compared to what it was before.

In my opinion female gaze is it is focused on the character arc of the women in the story just like their male counterparts. Not the scenes where the hero is shirtless (that is male gaze imo). This is coming from someone who reads a lot of stories and fanfiction.
