Having Problems Installing Packs (US residents) through the EA App? I Finally Got Help From EA
Hi everyone! I'm usually just a lurker, but I wanted to post about my experience with the EA app not allowing me to install 2 packs since April of this year. I contacted EA help immediately after getting a new computer and trying to install TS3. I followed all the instructions I could find, the origin workaround no longer worked, and Into the Future and Movie Stuff would not download at all and the only message I received was that the EA app encountered a problem, try again later. After I exhausted all the options they had for me, they simply stopped contacting me and set my ticket to closed. And I have been furious since.
Finally, I reached my limit and decided to contact the Better Business Bureau (for the US) on July 7. I know that this service gets crapped on a lot, but big companies usually have a dedicated team for escalated complaints - however, I don't think EA does anymore. But they still do take these complaints seriously. So anyway, I filed a complaint with the BBB and checked that I would like to get my game repaired or refunded. An EA rep contacted me the next day. I had to explain what was happening, I sent screenshots, told them everything I did to troubleshoot it and sent them the emails I had from customer service before. They must have done something on their end because I got logged out from everywhere, the EA app, help, the forum, the store, all of their services. And when I logged back into the EA app, both expansions started downloading and installed!
I'm so happy because I haven't been able to play TS3 since April. I hope this helps someone. Even if you believe this won't help, it doesn't hurt to try. I had given up hope, but since this service has helped me a lot over the years, I thought I'd give it a shot and it worked.
