Hundreds of random emails in less than 15 minutes

Someone just used my email address to apparently sign up for accounts on dozens of random platforms, some known brands some random ones. I’ve gotten about 150 emails in 15 or so minutes, most saying confirm account, reset password, booking confirmed, stuff like that. None of them seem to be for sites where I have actual accounts, so I don’t think I am actively being hacked. I have 2FA on almost all my real accounts so I would get those emails if someone was trying to get in

Is this just a large scale phish attempt hoping I click on one of the links, and I should just ignore the emails and hope they eventually stop? Or is this indicative of a worse situation and something I need to actively do something about?
