Actually getting professionally involved in politics as a solution?

Less talk, what can I do. Action(of any kind) in this case should be the courageous response to an absolute threat to life( nature, evolution/progress, equality, democracy, love/joy, etc.)

Just came to grips after a few years that my brother, with a very high capacity for intelligence (poly engineer), is now full blown maga.

I hate feeling so incredibly powerless. A man I looked up to forever is a fool. What steps do you think one could take to get involved in politics locally with a path towards a higher goal of helping us all.
