Searching for modern Cinderella aspects- he chooses her, she disappears, the search is on.

I just read a mafia one that while I didn't love- I loved the idea that there was this party, everyone vying for him and he was only interested in the girl who had no idea who he was.

So I'm looking for a situation where some how he chooses her (could be a party, ball, just how society all wants him) and then she leaves the situation/him/says no thanks for whatever reason and he has to find her. He needs to be highly eligible.

I'm open to anything after he finds her.

Not huge on the evil step sisters- though rough home life is fine

Any thing out there??

I could also be persuaded to historical though I'm thinking contemporary.
