Monster Security Agency - Layla Fae/Cassie Alexander/Cara Wylde

I just, I need to gush on this one guys. I grabbed {Guarded by the Snake by Layla Fae} earlier in the year after I saw it recommended in a random thread about the MMC talked the FMC through spicy times and y'all, YALL, I did not expect what I got. What an incredible read. I did not expect to love it so much or dive deep into an 8 book series, but here we are. I just wanted to take a minute to gush since I just finished the series today (hopefully it's not totally completed!).

My favorite MMC (and favorite book!) was Asan from Guarded by the Snake, hands down. He was just a fantastic MMC and Kim was just such a great FMC in her own right and the SPICE. Y'all, this book took me by surprise by how well down the spice was written. The club scene might just be my favorite spicy scene in any book I read this year. I cannot recommend this book enough, even if you aren't normally into the monster romances, you need to check it out. It's just, so so good.

My favorite couple/romance/story was Mina and Silas from {Guarded by the Nightmare by Cassie Alexander}. It was exactly the type of book I look. FMC hires a literal nightmare to seek revenge on the people who hurt her, knowing she gives him her soul after, and my girl is INTO IT. No regrets, not being upset about Silas taking these guys down. And I just loved that she was into her revenge. So many books pull the whole "I just couldn't do it" kind of thing, but not my girl Mina. And I loved every second of it.

My favorite dialogue and banter was {Guarded by the Phantom by Layla Fae}. Layla killed the spice in all their books and this was no exception. Phantom was giving major Deadpool vibes and I was here for it. His inner dialogue and his interactions with literally everyone were just amazing. I loved it and laughed so hard.

I also loved and adored {Guarded by the Vodink by Layla Fae} and {Guarded by the Kraken by Cassie Alexander}. They were just so much FUN. Cassie also wrote {Guarded by the Spider} which I also loved.

Cara's books were more sweet than spicy. {Guarded by the Golem} was just a little too short for me and I needed more spice personally, but the romance was adorable. {Guarded by the Leshy} was also very very sweet, but again, I wanted more spice. {Guarded by the Reaper} was my favorite of Cara's, but again, lacked a little of that more dominating MMC which I really like.

I really hope this series continues! I just loved it so much. These were literally my first ever monster books and I think I might just spend 2025 going down a monster book rabbit hole. They were all just so good and so fun..
