Really want to get otoplasty but terrified by risk of Keloids
I'm a male in my 20s and my protruding ears have bothered me my whole life. I intentionally keep hair long on the sides of my head to try to cover them up but I really just want to get a simple haircut with volume on top and fade on the sides. I'm just really nervous because I have darker skin and the surgeon was upfront in saying that although rare, keloids could be a real complication for me. My entire goal with otoplasty to draw attention away from my ears to other features of my face (beard, lean face, good head of hair, strong eyebrows, etc) but I'm just nervous that keloid development will bring even more attention to my ears. Have any of you gotten otoplasty and was it worth the risk of keloids? If you did develop keloids, was it easy to remove them?
