Should we quit homeschool co-op?
I have 3 kids with our 4th on the way. Oldest is 5, then almost 4, and almost 2. Baby is due mid September. We homeschool and are part of a wonderful homeschool co-op that meets once a week and operates very similarly to a public school. This past year was our firstt year doing it. We loved it, only problem is that at least one of my kids were sick, constantly. Now I’m sure that sounds like an exaggeration, but i can assure you it was not. The longest we went from September to May without anyone in our house being sick was 2 weeks. We had multiple colds, stomach bugs, ear infections, covid, and rsv (both of those we had the year before as well). And we only got those 2 healthy weeks because we stopped going to co op for 2 weeks in preperation for a family vacation during which we did not want to be sick. So now im faced with having a newborn at the beginning of cold and flu season so…what do i do? I dont want a sick newborn the whole winter and im SURE thats what i would get. But i also am not sure if pulling them is the right choice, especially for my older 2. I am not concerned about my ability to educate them, and socially they do great, they are social butterflies with both kids and adults. Even outside of the newborn i am just absolutely DREADING another winter of illness. What do i do?
