Warning: Slideshow wallpaper causes lag

I just got my first OLED last week, the Alienware AW2725DF. It's awesome, huge upgrade from my first gen 144hz TN. I set my wallpapers to slideshow every 10 minutes to prevent burn-in. I started having random lag spikes in game, I thought it was the other PC components that I switched around the same time. Then finally noticed it lag as the wallpaper changed when I was on my desktop, so I went to a plain black background and I gamed for a few hours without the lag spikes. Then I set it to change every 1 minute to double check, and it does indeed lag every minute.

I don't like the solid black or an animated wallpaper, so I think maybe a slideshow changing every 1 day or 6 hours might be a compromise along with a screensaver and trying to remember to just turn it off if I'm walking away for more than a minute anyways.
