Is humanity heading toward a ‘new dark’ age?
There are numerous instances in human history where societies have either lost (or deliberately destroyed) a treasure trove of information, arts and skills. In Europe, the Dark Ages mark a period after the Roman Occupation where society stagnated amid a loss of civil controls. This is mirrored elsewhere with artefacts and writing skills that appear to have been lost before being rediscovered centuries later. Question: does the increasing anti-science movement and dumbing down of political discussion herald a new epoch or is this just a normal blip in the societal evolution?
