I feel sick

The way the producers & the men are treating the women in this show. The way everyone is lying to Kaylor. The way the videos & tweets are making Leah believe she’s universally hated. The way Serena was painted as an unhinged Angry Black Woman for being hurt. Everyone harassing all the islanders social medias. It’s too much. I’ll finish this season, but I think I can’t watch another season again.

Ik it’s the point of the show, but completely isolating them from the outside world makes for perfect conditions for manipulating and fucking with people’s head. It’s a really toxic environment and I can’t help but think of the long term repercussions on each islanders mental health. I can find entertainment in drama and in messy love lives. But I can’t in good faith find the borderline emotional abuse of young women entertaining.

And you can say “Oh they knew what they signed up for…. but like you wouldn’t know until you were in the thick of it. And probably wouldn’t realize how traumatizing it is until much later.
