Theory -Virginia’s Say Yes to the Dress
When watching back the “Say yes to the dress” moment, there was something about her tears that didn’t seem totally aligned with someone who is being emotional because she is about to marry the love of her life. For some reason, the lens in which I viewed it was her recognizing that he is a good man, has good qualities, and in theory should be someone who she should be happy to marry. However, the tears felt like a moment where acknowledging those things are true about a potential partner, but he is not a life long partner FOR HER. Also notably absent was Devin’s sister and mom. Now, there could have been scheduling conflicts but their absence considering just how close he is to them, was noticeable.
Also, their energy in the prenup scene, while the subject matter can cause a bit of tension, it didn’t feel like a conversation between two people that were in love enough to be married.
Last, the final scenes of them in the carriage and at the restaurant with her getting the basketball gifts, her mouth played the part but I wasn't believing her eyes.
I honestly think they both fit into each other’s good on paper qualities but them not actually being each other’s person. Who knows, come the next drop I can be proven wrong, but as it stands now, I don’t see the connection being strong enough to make a long lasting marriage. (Prenup activated!)
