Cap’n Crunch and water
This bar sticks to me, not just because it’s about the level of poverty Kendrick grew up with, but to me, adding water to cereal feels like such a yearning for a normal experience. My family grew up with less, but not “we can’t afford milk” poor.
But then its placement in wacced out murals, it questions everyone’s authenticity compared to what he’s been through and grew up with.
This single line paints such an intense picture to me.
