Has anyone tried Verizon Travel Pass in Japan that can recommend it?

I was thinking about mobile wifi but my 3 kids are not going to want to be in the same place all of the time. I found this:

and I think it sounds like a good but expensive option. Was curious if anyone has used it and could recommend it?
