Family nickname of Möiselein

Hi All, my mom was called "Möiselein" when she was little and when i was little, I inherited the nickname. I was told it means 'little mouse' but I am not sure if that's accurate. My grandma was Bavarian so was hoping someone who speaks fluent German/Bavarian could let me know if that's an actual word or not!
