Flying with a soft rifle bag inside a hard case. Yea or Nay?

Greetings! I’m going on a hunt in a couple months and traveling there by commercial air, about a 3 hour domestic flight.

I purchased a Pelican 1700 case which will work for an AR Pistol, SBR or a broken down AR 15.

I have a Savior padded double rifle bag that fits nearly perfectly inside my case.

Do you think it would work for taking my AR-10 scoped upper and lower without getting broken or needing to re-zero?

Cons are the extra weight, reduction of capable items in the case vs cut out foam and possible inadequate protection.

Pros are I don’t have to cut out the foam and I have a bag I can carry with me worth less hassle than the hard case.

I have seen one video where a guy did this but he didn’t mention air travel, it was more for carrying on his car’s roof rack.

Thanks for all your advice!
