The case for Erling Braut Haaland

Many people are wrong saying Haaland isn't worth bringing in right now. He even went down in price this week so many are selling.

Sure, his next 5 games are against ARS, LIV, NEW, TOT, NFO. Tough teams? All I see are CS he's going to wipe. You've double ARS defence? Sorry, no CS.

You've TAA? Sorry, no CS. Southampton scored against Hall. Tottenham's defence have one healthy leg between them. Bournemouth put 5 past NFO. What's there to be worried about?

Haaland's low relative ownership (for his standards) also means you don't just get his points, you gain in rank by denying other teams points. He's a differential.

Since I bought Haaland, I can only laugh reading the threads about people's mental health problems over strikers like Jackson, J Pedro and DCL wondering if they'll score and saying this is their last chance.

Just get Haaland up front with Isak, dummy.

Haaland, like Salah, Palmer and Isak is fixtureproof. Get Wood or Gakpo in as your 3rd. Problem solved. Set and forget.

People were overly spoiled at the start of the season when Haaland had 10G in 5 games. And then overly reactive when he started blanking. He is still almost averaging a goal a game. He is on course. This narrative that Haaland is having a bad season because City are is misguided. He has 18G 2A in 23 games(!)

But his price is so high? It is high, but for good reason. He is a safe investment. And City have turned a corner and won 4 out of their last 5 games. They have found themselves again with Foden coming into form and Marmoush starting.

The number of viable 5m-6m enabler mids this year is staggering: Amad, Rogers, Semenyo, Iwobi, Mitoma, Daamsgaard. These players offset Haaland's cost. You could happily own any of these. Sure, it made sense at the start of the season not to have Haaland when we all had 100m but many now have 103m+ in value. There is room now for Haaland.

Haaland scored 36G in 2023. He scored 27G last year. He is in truth a 30G a year guy and I expect him to get another 12G in the next 15 games. If City get their act together he could score another 17G, who knows. But mark my words, people will be jumping to WC him in at GW30 and the genius content creators are alresdy hinting as much. So why wait? Get ahead of them.

I've never seen such apathy or boredom over a player with 20 returns in as many games. The narrative is wrong.

How many goals would Haaland have to score this season for you to bring him in tomorrow? 29? 32? 35?

Whatever it is he just seems worth it, no?
