Question about a certain conversation

So when you’re talking with Lank Denvik about Vader attacking Jedha he seems worried after Cal mentions what happened on Jedha. Are we supposed to believe that he was lying to try and trick Cal? Or was there truth in his reaction?

Also, knowing this takes place close to the events of the Kenobi show it makes sense as to why Vader would show up again
