can someone dumb this down for me?
EEG FINDINGS/CLINICAL IMPRESSION:
This is mildly abnormal routine EEG with video capturing wakefulness and drowsiness only due to the following findings.
Generalized theta range background slowing as described, indicative of a mild degree of generalized diffuse or multifocal cerebral dysfunction, i.e. encephalopathy, which is of nonspecific etiology. It may at least in part be related to effects of a medication or medications.
Diffuse excess beta fast activity, often seen in the setting of sedating medications, such as benzodiazepines or barbiturates.
this is copied directly from my hospital notes. all i know is that no epileptic activity was found, but is the rest of the stuff found concerning? the doctors didn’t say anything about it. i’m not on a sedating medication and wasn’t on one during the eeg. all i was on at the time was an antidepressant
