A quick rant about r/Democrats and r/Politics

Hey everyone!

I know y’all are processing the state of the union address that just happened. I get it; it was rough. Please feel free to ignore me, and prioritize yourself and processing the situation. However, after seeing the reaction from both r/Politics and r/Democrats I need to rant for a bit.

I get how awful Trump was. I am not undermining him, his lies, or our harm to our country, but I genuinely felt proud of what our Reps did. Al Green spoke out and got kicked out. Some held signs, like Melanie Stansbury, and even got them ripped out of their hands. Others walked out like Jasmine Crockett or my county’s Rep, Sydney Kamlager.

Sure, it wasn’t as attention grabby as Romanian officials throwing smoke bombs, but I don’t want my Reps to be arrested and for Dems to lose even more voting power.

This past address confirmed to me that both of those subs have been over taken by leftist and tankies, who won’t be satisfied until our Democrat Reps do something drastic, like start a violent revolution.

Coincidentally, you know who I didn’t see at the event? AOC and Bernie. Where were they? These leftist and tankies often glaze both of them for being “the leadership we need,” but what did they accomplish tonight? NOTHING.

To be clear, by leftist, I don’t mean anyone who holds socialist or progressive views, like wanting universal minimum wage. I mean the people who basically won’t be happy unless they have a leftist Trump: someone who tramples on the constitution but for the sake of leftist values.

Seeing both reactions pissed me off to no end. Maybe I am being dramatic, but those two subs are dead to me. This needs to become the default sub for REAL DEMOCRATS. Ever since I found it, I have never felt more at home, and I know most real life Democrats — not those chronically online, like the ones on reddit — agree with us.

Our Reps used so many different strategies tonight and for once, they deserve praise. Sorry for the rant. I hope y’all have a good night and please stay safe, and a big THANK YOU to whoever created this sub.
