A guitar who's strings are all A, but one octave apart

Every string starts with A, just each one is an octave higher. That means the scale is the same on every string. All 6 strings will for instance produce a C note on the 4th fret, at a perfect octave apart. It would mean re-learning how to play for any existing guitarist, but be easier to learn for any new guitarist. It would also mean any sheet music would effectively be tabs, since the notes would perfectly align with the strings.

I don't play guitar (but do play bass), so this is from an outside observer. Guitarists, how crazy is this?
