Why does the Court TV website require me to give them my credit card number? I don’t have any credit cards.

They say they don’t charge for me to watch Court TV on their website. So why do I have to give them a credit card number? It looks like I can’t watch Court TV at their site unless I get a credit card I don’t want or need, and pay the card company just to have one. Why does Court TV do this?
