Does anyone with chronic neck pain have a pinched nerve in the neck?

I got injured by a stupid ice dispenser lid coming down on my head at an angle while putting ice into a bag 6 year ago. I’ve always assumed it was muscular damage because I didn’t want to believe it could be anything else like come on an ice dispenser lid completely altering my life? No couldn’t possibly be it.

Well my MRI results show small disc bulge on c4-c7 which is why I always assumed it couldn’t be a pinched nerve because I had no other symptoms than a tight crunchy neck with the need to bend my head ear to shoulder for a small 1 second relief from pain.

I don’t know what to do PT, chiropractic, deep tissue massages, dry needling and cupping hasn’t helped for shit.

Is my only choice disc replacement or fusion?

C4-5 level: A 1.6 mm diffuse disc bulge with central disc protrusion causing partial effacement of the anterior thecal sleeve. There is mild bilateral neural foraminal narrowing with impingement over the bilateral exiting nerve roots.
